Ecological projects

The Siberian Generating Company engages in environmentally oriented energy production, which is characterized by a decrease in the negative impact on the environment with a low resource intensity and high energy efficiency of the technological process.

Cogeneration development project in Chernogorsk, Khakassia region

Replacement of 7 coal-fired district heating boiler plants in Chernogorsk (Republic of Khakassia) by a existing large scale cogeneration source of electric and thermal energy (Abakan CHPP). The project includes: increasing heat capacity of Abakan CHPP; construction of  14 km main heat pipe and deep modernization of district heating distribution network with decreasing of heat losses.

Potential positive outcome for the environment: Decommissioning of 7 small scale coal boilers with low environmental efficiency; increasing the share of electricity produced in cogeneration mode; reducing heat energy losses.

Timeline: 2020-2021

СAPEX: 2.8 bn RUR excl.VAT

CO2 units to be reduced: 100 000 t CO2 per year

Cogeneration development project in Belovo, Kemerovo region

Replacement of 6 coal-fired district heating boiler plants in Belovo (Kemerovo region) by the cogeneration source of electric and thermal energy (Belovskaya STPP). The project includes: increasing heat capacity of Belovskaya STPP; construction of  11 km main heat pipe and deep modernization of district heating distribution network with decreasing of heat losses.

Potential positive outcome for the environment: Decommissioning of 6 small scale coal boilers with low environmental efficiency; increasing the share of electricity produced in cogeneration mode; reducing heat energy losses.

Timeline: 2020-2022

СAPEX: 2.9 bn RUR excl.VAT

CO2 units to be reduced: 50 000 t CO2 per year

Cogeneration development project in Krasnoyarsk, Krasnoyarsk region

Replacement of 35 coal-fired district heating boiler plants in Krasnoyarsk (Krasnoyarsk region) by existing large scale cogeneration sources of electric and thermal energy (Krasnoyarsk CHPP-1, CHPP-2, CHPP-3). The project includes: construction of a new unit at CHPP-3; deep modernization of CHPP-1 with focus on environmental issues; construction of  new main heat pipes and deep modernization of district heating distribution network with decreasing of heat losses; individual houses heat supply electrification.

Potential positive outcome for the environment: Decommissioning of 35 small scale coal boilers with low environmental efficiency; increasing the share of electricity produced in cogeneration mode; reducing heat energy losses; emissions reduction from stoves in individual homes.

Timeline: 2020-2025

СAPEX: 8.7 bn RUR excl.VAT

CO2 units to be reduced: 275 000 t CO2 per year
